Paranormal Detectives Desk

For this project my focus was on both traditional Japanese and 1920’s Art Deco architecture and culture, mainly concentrating on the interior design and folklore aspects. My goal was to create a believable meld between the two cultures.
A brief summary of the theme would be akin to Japanese Ghost Busters in the 1920. The piece portrays what a paranormal detectives desk may look like.

Here I was attempting to create a 1920's Art Deco texture that would incorporate the centuries old Japanese technique of charring “Sugi”.
In order to achieve the highly associated 1920's theme of 'Black & Gold'.

The 'Captains' Chair
